Mama I'm In Love: With My Brothers Bestie
fuck, marry, kill - why are all my brothers friends on my to do list.
Fuck, marry, kill book boyfriends edition. At the end of this newsletter and book recs I will ask you this question again - please answer them in the comments below!
Alright besties, lets buckle the fuck up and discuss why Breana’s newest kink is BROTHERS BEST FRIENDS. I am a whore for men who are considered off limits (in book world. I don’t need that karmic disaster in my life) and there are so many to choose from these days. I don’t know if it’s the witty banter that gets me hot or the idea of them doing the horizontal dance in bed while unknowing brother is playing the PS5 in the family room. I think its because I genuinely love the idea of a little mother trucking danger since my life is not that exciting but let’s dive into some recs shall we.
Bad Habit by Charleigh Rose was my fist foray into brothers best friend trope - well, well written story anyways and it SUCKED me in. I mean, we’ve got Briar (main FMC) falling in love with the guy Asher that’s older than her, sneaking into her window after a little fun time with her older brother and “stealing” a kiss from her. Briar wants Asher but he’s the guy she shouldn’t want and then said man LEAVING YOU for years and when he comes home he’s this ridiculously hot and angry guy you haven’t yet moved on from. Yuh, I just said way too many words right there but i’ll leave you with a quote to convince you to dive into this series and love it.
“Sometimes, when you’re hurting so deeply for so long, you don’t feel anything at all anymore. And then something or someone comes along that gets under your skin, inside your blood, and makes you feel fucking everything again.”
― Charleigh Rose, Bad Habit
When I first read the book (its a consistent reread for me) I was annoyed by Briar and Asher and the miscommunication trope they were tied up in but the more I read, the more I understood. Asher is the guy who doesn't quite believe he is worthy of the love Briar wants to smother him with and then add in disapproving family and shit really pops off. 5/5 recommend this book to quench that brother best friend thirst.
“But love is a word that is too weak and used too often to describe what I feel for you. It’s relentless and desperate, and every time you smile I fall harder and harder.”
Babes. THE WAY THIS BOOK HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLDDDD. Parker lord. Tattooed bad boy who has only ever loved one woman even though he’s about to marry someone else - the love triangle of my dreams while also falling under the brothers best friend umbrella. Needless to say, the plot is beautiful but the spice, the spice is what keeps me coming back EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
“Blakely was a train derailing my life, and I didn’t understand why I was so determined to stand there and let her.”
Girl with stars in her eyes falls for the bad boy who doesn’t do love. The guy her story begins and ends with. Her brothers best friend. Ugh, this book is probably my ‘ouch’ book out of them all so I can’t tell you too much without spoiling it for you but LORDT Decker Harris makes me wanna try the broken, damaged boy out again even if the last one fucked my life up. It build character.
alright besties - we have made it to the end. pick your boyfriend poison/book you’re intrigued enough to pick up and drop it in the comments below!
