Jesus, Mary and Joseph. I am gearing up to celebrate THIRTY TWO laps around the sun on Saturday (8/20) and what a fucking year 31 has been. Every year I compile a little list of things I have learned and I want to offer you guys that list as well because honestly this year has been hard as hell but eye opening.
THIRTY ONE LESSONS I’VE LEARNED:
Failure is a part of life - accept it and grow from it
You cannot make someone love you OR see you
Relationships end - you will be ok, I promise
Jealousy is natural but ask yourself why
Comparison is the thief of joy
For the love of Jesus Christ, remember to account for taxes during your brand deals
You do not need a new outfit for every occasion (just some!)
Ask for help
Getting on antidepressants isn’t a sign of failure - its a sign you still want to live
Take the damn Apple Watch off -its not an every outfit accessory
Love isn’t a death sentence. Let it in.
Starting over is scary but exhilarating
Quit that job.
Quit those people.
Demand your worth and then add tax and late fees
Fall in love with that hobby (reminder: you don’t have to monetize it!)
Laugh
Lay out in the rain and cry if you need to
Schedule your checkups!
Every action doesn’t deserve a reaction
Leave people where they’re at
Accept situations for what they are
You can survive anything
Never let a person tell you twice they don’t want you
Death is the greatest equalizer there is - don’t forget to live now while you have the chance.
Cry when you need to
Hug your parents
Apologize to the people you still want to be a part of your life
Allow someone to love you FULLY
Read the books on your shelf before you buy new ones (hopefully I listen to this advice soon.)
Leave. A situation, a person, a social setting.
